My Fitness Journey with Crunch Fitness Westmanstown
I started in Crunch Fitness in March 2014. Having never set foot in a gym in my life I decided it was time to get fit for health reasons, there is a family history of stroke and diabetes. I hadn’t seen the weight creep on over the years and always thought I wouldn’t have the time for the gym, because of working full time and being a mother of three.
Starting I was 85 kg, I started with a few classes step and Zumba about 3 times a week. Following encouragement from the instructors I eventually started Rip60/FRT and kettlebells after about 6 months I was doing 6 days a week of classes.
I wanted to try something different so I started a weights program that Emma put together for me in March 2015. In twelve weeks I went from deadlifting 25 kg to 80 kg. working on proper technique and form squatting from 14kg to 40 kg, and bench pressing from 20kg to 40 kg.
I have toned up and changed by body shape from a size 14 to a size 10-12 and losing 19 kg of weight in just over the twelve months but I have noticed the biggest difference in the past twelve weeks in how toned I am.
I set small goals for myself at the start of the twelve weeks, like being able to do full push ups and I can now do 20 comfortably. The results are visible so it gives you great encouragement to continue.
